Eligibility:

 First Class MBBS degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. The candidates must have studied Mathematics at +2 level. Seats are reserved for SC/ST and physically handicapped as per Government of India rules.

 

Test Centres:

Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai

 

Admission Test:

 The admission test will be of objective to test the aptitude of the candidates in +2 level Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics apart from standard syllabi of MBBS. It will consist of 10 questions in Mathematics, 15 questions each in Physics and Chemistry and 80 questions based upon MBBS syllabus.

 2 hours

 

Syllabi:

1)  Physics

Newton's laws of motion, simple harmonic motion, Hook's law, First law of thermodynamics, Gas laws, Maxwell distribution of velocity, waves, Interference of two waves, Coulomb's law, Ohm's law, Magnetic Field due to Current, Faraday's law of induction, Photoelectric effect, Bohr model of atom, Radioactivity.

 

2) Chemistry

Chemical equilibrium, Chemical & enzyme kinetics, Nuclear Chemistry, Enzyme catalysis, Coordination Chemistry- preliminary concepts, Bonding, Strong and weak interactions, Inductive and resonance effects on acidity and basicity, Characteristic reactions of alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, amines, carboxylic acids and their derivatives. Optical isomerism of compounds containing 2 asymmetric centers. Aromatic and heterocyclic compounds (one hetero atom), Carbohydrates, amino acids, nucleic acids and peptides: general structure and physical properties.

 

3) Mathematics

Algebra of complex numbers, theory of quadratic equations, relationship between roots and coefficients, arithmetic, geometric & harmonic progressions. Equation of a straight line in various forms, angle between 2 lines, distance of a point from a line, line through point of intersection of 2 lines. Limit, continuity and derivative of a function, limit, and derivative of a sum, difference, product and quotient of two functions and composite functions. Integration as the inverse process of differentiation, integration by parts.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

     THERE WERE ONLY 6 SEATS FOR THIS COURSE THIS YEAR. ONLY THE FIRST 23 CANDIDATES WERE CALLED FOR INTERVIEW FROM THE PERFORMANCE IN THE ENTRANCE EXAM. SO, IT BECOMES OBVIOUS THAT THOSE WHO SCORE WELL IN PCM SUBJECTS DO WELL IN THE ENTRANCE EXAM.
