The USMLE is a part of the long but structured process towards obtaining a license and thereafter a residency in the United States of America. It is a considerable investment of both time and money spanning over a year and a half of hard work. But the rewards at the end are considerably worth the effort.

At this point, it would be important to note that even those who are thinking of doing their residencies here and then going to the US for a fellowship will need to talk the USMLE. And if you ever want to take the MLE, this (when you are fresh out of medical college) is the best time to do so.

Applying to residencies abroad effectively means losing one academic year… but given that you would have to do an AMOship for a year anyways, it stands balanced out.

I hope that the information below will prove useful and handy for all those who are considering taking the exam. If there is anything that you want to know, please email me and I will be glad to be of any help I can.

Any suggestions that you would like to make are always welcome.
